An entrepreneur’s time is valuable in the fundraising process; therefore our approach to evaluating an opportunity is timely and respectful to those involved.
All submitted business plans will receive a response. Our process begins with the introduction of the opportunity to the PTV investment team. After an initial review, a member of the investment team will follow up within two weeks giving an indication of interest. If the decision is made to move forward, we will set up a meeting with the company or arrange for an on-site visit to the company’s headquarters to evaluate the management team and the opportunity.
Upon further exploration, we may enter into a due diligence period, at which point we are willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement. We will consult with our Business and Scientific Advisory Boards about the science and technology, assess the market and opportunity, and leverage our network and relationships to evaluate the management team. Final steps include review of a term sheet before a conclusive decision is made.
We make few investments compared to the many that are received. Whether or not the opportunity is a PTV fit, we will follow up and provide feedback that will be additive to the company’s pursuit of success.
