Pinto Technology Ventures (PTV Sciences) was founded in 2003 to invest in growth opportunities in the healthcare and life sciences sector. We invest in companies across the United States leveraging world-renowned resources in Texas to create disruptive technology, compelling investment opportunities, and life-saving change. The Firm has the benefit of the direct experience and support of the research institutions, academic centers, foundations, family offices, and entrepreneurs: the "pillars of Texas" who over the last century have been investing in and building sustainable, successful companies in healthcare, energy, finance, telecommunications, information technology, agriculture, and real estate.

PTV I closed in 2004 at $66 million with twelve investments including two investments resulting in Initial Public Offering and two Merger and Acquisition transactions.

PTV II closed in 2006 at $191 million with fourteen investments. Ten of the fourteen companies are currently reporting revenue. Seven companies in total are based in Texas.

Our team of 26 professionals is comprised of representatives from many of the leading institutions and thought leaders in the State of Texas. PTV Sciences has focused on healthcare companies in markets with significant unmet clinical or infrastructure needs. We strive to ensure their success by providing them access to critical business development resources, including capital, guidance, and strategic partnerships. To date, PTV has invested in over twenty-six companies.

PTV Sciences’ investment strategy focuses on the healthcare sector, including medical devices, diagnostics and a limited number of lower risk biotechnology and pharmaceutical opportunities. PTV has a specific focus on companies located in Texas, the Southwest and the U.S with an emphasis on investments that have (1) proprietary technologies; (2) the potential for dramatic growth; (3) compelling business strategies; (4) near term revenue; and (5) opportunities for substantial financial return.
